Hey. This is my personal and fandom blog. Fandom wise, here's what you can expect: anime (specifically Kuroko no Basuke, Attack on Titan, free! iwatobi swim club, and my original stomping ground: Sailormoon), manga, otome game stuff (Dreamy Days in West Tokyo most likely, but others on occasion), Bioware and RPGs, and comic books (Marvel bias). Oh and certain TV shows and movies. I'm really all over the place. So yeah.

Quote reblogged from Justice Is Hard with 44,612 notes

My Least Favorite Trope (and this post will include spoilers for The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Matrix, Western Civilization, and—cod help me—Bulletproof Monk*.) is the thing where there’s an awesome, smart, wonderful, powerful female character who by all rights ought to be the Chosen One and the hero of the movie, who is tasked with taking care of some generally ineffectual male character who is, for reasons of wish fulfillment, actually the person the film focuses on. She mentors him, she teaches him, and she inevitably becomes his girlfriend… and he gets the job she wanted: he gets to be the Chosen One even though she’s obviously far more qualified. And all he has to do to get it and deserve it is Man Up and Take Responsibility.

And that’s it. Every god-damned time. The mere fact of naming the films above and naming the trope gives away the entire plot and character arc of every single movie.

panimauser:

Dear fandom. Please explain to non-english speaker what ‘rookery’ means in context of Skyhold in Inquisiton. That place where Leliana prefers to live.

All dictionaries I tried give me two definitions - either nesting of bird and some sea mammals(which does not look liveable on pictures) or slums,…

I would imagine a rookery, such as one in an old timey castle, would be where the carrier pigeons and other such trained birds were kept. She could spend her time with the trained hawks and message carrying pidgeons. Seeing as she is a spy, having access to message carrying birds would be very important for her to get notes and such from her subordinates. PLUS she is known as “the Nightingale” right, which is a type of bird, so it’s sort of fitting she hangs out in the rookery, a place for birds.

ANYWAY, hope that helps.

Anon hate from the late 1800’s.

What I love most about this is that this person was SO INCENSED at the recipient that they couldn’t even wait the days/weeks it would take for the mail to go through. No, they had to say “FUCK YOU” as soon as fucking possible and, AND, let the recipient that they were not done with the fuck you, nay, this was merely the first volley in what would undoubtably be a dressing down of Biblical proportions.

i will gleefully reblog this every time i see it
